My 27" i7 iMac

或者有人會以為我身為IT人會有幾台電腦，其實我還稱得上是個環保份子，我想在IT界生存而像我一樣只擁有一台電腦的應該不多吧。對很多人來說一台desktop加一台notebook再加一台netbook是必然的，我自己還是覺得何苦要花時間將文檔抄來抄去呢？其實手頭裡唯一的2.4GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro我也很滿意，在這三年裡不眠不休，可謂盡忠職守，也許如果要出門還得靠它一段時間。

現在搬家了，終於離開了飄泊無定的生活，在往後的日子待在家裡的日子應該增多了吧，notebook好像不太需要了，也是時候買一台desktop。蘋果也好像看準了現在的我，剛好趁我還在大學工作的時候推渴望以久的iMac，我好像已經沒有再等的理由。雖然早兩天泰國之旅的念頭被炸彈粉碎了，但現在卻更興奮。昨天晚上第一時間訂了，一直都睡不著。

May be it’s too late for me as a Java developer to realize this! There’s no more old JDK exist in Snow Leopard!
Well, actually it’s neither a problem for general user nor Apple. Just if you’re working on a project which is still compiled by the aging JDK1.5, that would be a concern…

It’s quite tricky that Snow Leopard set all old JDK as alias to 1.6…. That why I thought they still exist…

Mac mini updated with Unibody, HDMI & SDHC Slot

It was been expecting iPhone 4 appears after Apple Store down & up today. So amazed by another stuff on the shelf! A new unibody design Mac mini! Same as laptops with NVIDIA GeForce 320M display chipset built-in, larger 320GB hard disk space (dual 500GB for Mac mini server). As a media center, it’s so great that finally with built-in HDMI port and SDHC slot. It has a cover at the bottom to let user upgrade memory easily (not sure how about hard drive). They also put the large power supply back into the body. But still it’s not i5 or i7, for heavy workload, we may still go for iMac.
Anyway, it’s still a good news that Apple is not a mobile phone company!

MacBook Pro no volume suddenly

I found my MacBook Pro has lost its internal speaker suddenly. I can neither adjust volume by any mean, the volume icon is blurred and disable (it’s pretty smart, ha!). I heard from many discussions I may need to clean the line out plug. Let me try!
