I found my MBP has less than 10GB left these few days. Though I produced quite a lot of photos recently, but the photos are not in RAW. It has no reason that such little space left as I remember it still has 20GB~ last time when I checked.
Then I tried GrandPerspective, it takes few minutes to analyze my hard drive and show the distribution by file type in different color. I pointed the mouse point onto each big partition and found there’s a hidden VM in my drive which is 8.37GB! And also a swap file for hibernation left in /private/var/vm which is 4GB same as the size of the total memory.
By doing this, I’ve been free up 12GB of space!!! What a great tool!
