If you own Nikon F5, F100, D1, D2, D200 or coming D3, D300, you know you need a special shutter release for these series of camera. From Nikon, it’s MC-30 with only one big release button and MC-36 with LED display and timer. Honestly, it is no magic inside but just wire (even no battery is required), not so worth to spend US$60 on MC-30. Today, I found a third party replacement of it. It’s called “Jianisi RS-N1″, made in China. They have model for Canon and other brands also. The outlook is not better and feeling of shutter button pressing is not bad too. I searched the net, it seems has a newer model with metallic screw connector (mine is only plastic without screw). Anyway, mine is tight enough (actually too much) to plug into my D200. As it’s not something that I always use, not really a big deal.
I’m not sure where else can find this. Here is a online selling page I found from China (RMB$80). I bought it with HK$185.
